Local TB Seals issued at Christmas time, in the US, and all over the world, are fundraising seals issued on a city, county, state, or targeted basis. In the US, several dozen were issued between 1907 and 1908 by eight different societies in seven different states. The longest running US Local TB society is Lutheran Sanatorium, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, whose first seal was issued in 1910, and they are still issuing seals. Whether the funds were used for diagnosis, treatment, education or building, Local TB seals are created to aid local, or targeted projects (in this case, Lutherans).
